    National Grid outages in Erie and Niagara County
    (WIVB)- Two volt transmission lines blew in the Northwest corner of Amherst. This caused four National Grid substations in Northern Erie and Southern Niagara to lose power.
    Close to 2,200 people have lost power in North Tonawanda, Pendleton and Amherst. Crews are currently on scene working to resolve the issue.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two hours before kickoff in their second preseason game, the Buffalo Bills announced they have released second-year running back Karlos Williams.
    The move comes as a surprise after Williams rushed for 517 yards on 5.6 yards per carry in his rookie season. He scored seven touchdowns and served as a more than capable backup to starter LeSean McCoy. Many viewed Williams to be a draft steal, since the Bills had selected him in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

    Overnight shooting kills 25 year-old woman in Buffalo
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
    Detectives say a 25 year-old Buffalo female was struck by gunfire in the 200 block of Shumway. Police believe the incident may have occurred during a street party.
    The woman was transported to Buffalo General where she later died.

    An invasive insect is taking over some portions of Western New York. The Emerald Ash Borer is wreaking havoc on trees but town leaders in Amherst are helping to stop the spread.
    Dan Riley, crew chief of the Amherst parks and forestry department, told News 4,”Every tree in Amherst will be effected at some point if it’s not treated.”
