• Buffalo police investigate shooting on Walden Ave.

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.
  Officers responded to Walden Avenue and St. Louis Avenue where they located a 37 year-old Buffalo man struck by gunfire.
  The victim  was transported to ECMC where he is listed in critical condition.

• 13 dead, 6 injured as fire hits bar in French city

  PARIS (AP) – A fast-moving fire that appeared to be accidental swept through a birthday party in a basement bar in the northwest French city of Rouen, killing at least 13 people and injuring six others, authorities said Saturday.

• Community rallies around firefighter and stands against racism

  NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The North Tonawanda community has been rallying around the Walker family all week long.
  Friday night, the community came together to stand against racism and to stand with Ken Walker.
  The North Tonawanda firefighter lost his home in a fire earlier this week after police said Walker’s neighbor set his apartment on fire. The fire came just two days after Walker received a racist letter in the mail.

  State Park Police at Niagara Falls received reports of a person in distress in the Niagara River near Buckhorn State Park in Grand Island around 8:30 p.m.

  GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) — A body was pulled from the Niagara River Friday night after a two hour search.
  Coast Guard, New York State Park Police and the Erie County Sheriff’s Department all scanned the Niagara River after receiving reports of a missing swimmer. The Grand Island Fire Department says a male victim was recovered and pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m.

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Emily Daham packs a suitcase of back braces, prosthetics, and shoes.
  “We need lots of shoes. I probably gave out 200 pairs of shoes last time when I was there.”

• Body found in Lake Erie identified as missing boater

  HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON (WIVB) — Missing boater Giuseppe Reinhart has been declared deceased after his body was pulled out of Lake Erie Thursday.
  37-year-old Reinhart’s boat washed ashore in Hamburg last week, sparking a 3-day search over Lake Erie.  Thursday morning, a fisherman spotted a body off the shore of Port Maitland and contacted Ontario Provincial Police. Police later identified the body as Reinhart’s.
