    3 kids hit by car in Cheektowaga
    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three young teenagers were hit by a car in Cheektowaga Thursday afternoon.
    The accident happened at Central Blvd. and Eastland Pkwy. It is not clear if any of the children are injured.
    The driver, only identified as a female originally left the scene, but later returned. it is not yet known if she will face charges.

    MURRAY, N.Y. (WIVB) — A drug investigation led to something more when officials in Orleans County made a recent arrest.
    The Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force arrested Scott Davis, 28, in the early morning hours of Thursday. Davis was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and another two counts of criminal possession in relation to his alleged involvement with cocaine.

    PEMBROKE, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Cattaraugus County man is accused of letting a 15-year-old drive a vehicle without the owner’s permission.
    Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Alleghany Rd. in Pembroke Tuesday to allegedly find a 15-year-old in the driver’s seat.

    Buffalo man accused of threatening hospital workers
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Shortly after midnight, Buffalo Police say a man was threatening employees at South Buffalo Mercy Hospital. The man accused of doing this has been arrested.

    Olcott Beach deemed safe for swimming
    OLCOTT, N.Y. (WIVB) — After shutting down for more than a month, Olcott Beach has reopened to swimmers.
    After sampling the water on Wednesday, the Niagara County Department of Health determined the water to be safe for swimming.
    The beach was closed to swimmers on June 22 after testers said the water had “unsatisfactory bacteriological” quality.

    Thousands powerless; traffic lights out in Cheektowaga, Sloan
    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Around 2:30 p.m., more than 4,800 people were without power in Cheektowaga and Sloan.
    The outage affected traffic lights, putting them out of service. Cheektowaga Police tried to assist with traffic movement at intersections and told drivers to treat them as four way stops during the outage.
    Affected roads include Walden Ave., Broadway, Union Rd. and Harlem Rd.
    Around 2:40, News 4 confirmed that the Walden Galleria mall in Cheektowaga had power.

    DARIEN, NY (WIVB) – Two people were rushed to the hospital after a motorcycle crash in Genesee County.
    The crash happened Wednesday night near Darien Lake.
    Traffic was letting out from the Heart and Joan Jett concert at the park.
    Someone told one of the park deputies directing traffic that the bike ran into the back of two cars, and then kept going.

    ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York’s attorney general has reached a settlement with Zipcar Inc. over vehicle damage fees charged to 5,000 members from 2011 through 2015.
    New York law requires giving consumers an opportunity to dispute damage fees before they’re assessed.
    Investigators say Zipcar charged fees, which can range up to $1,000, before notifying consumers.
