    Death threats made against Erie County deputies
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- A Grand Island man is facing an aggravated harassment charge for calling Erie County Sheriff’s deputies and threatening to kill them. 22-year-old Sammy Abdellatif was arrested Monday.
    Deputies told News 4 Abdellatif was angry after his car was towed.
    This comes less than a week after Buffalo Police officers arrested Arthur Jordan for making threats to officers on social media.
    Local firefighters are also on high alert following threats on social media.

    BPD investigating bank robbery on Jefferson Ave.
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened Tuesday morning on Jefferson Ave.
    Police say the M&T Bank branch on that street was robbed just after 11 a.m. The suspect allegedly entered the bank, demanded money from a teller and then left with an unclear amount of money.
    Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call officers’ confidential tip line at (716) 847-2255.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo parents Terrell Hagans and Maureen Fabre can no longer be around their kids, after police found the children naked and starving in their west side apartment.
    Tuesday morning a judge put a no contact order in place, which prohibits Hagans and Fabre from seeing the three children, two of which they have together.
    The kids, who are just one, two, and three-years-old, were evaluated overnight at the hospital when police discovered them July 11.

     YOUNGSTOWN, NY (WIVB)  – The Niagara County Sheriff’s Department  is trying to learn the identity of a man whose body was found floating in Lake Ontario near Youngstown.
    A fisherman made the discovery shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday morning about a mile off shore.
    The U.S. Coast Guard responded and secured the body and brought it back to their Youngstown station.

    VARYSBURG, NY (WIVB) – Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a safari park owner reportedly killed by one of his animals.

    BENNINGTON, NY (WIVB) – A former town clerk won’t have to serve jail time for stealing tax dollars.
    This morning Tina Metz was given a conditional discharge.
    Last year she pleaded guilty to grand larceny and other charges for stealing over $33,000 in town fees and tax payments when she worked for the town of Bennington.
    At sentencing the judge said Metz paid the money back.
    She faced up to 11 years in prison if she had not made restitution.
