    LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) —For the past four years artists having been showing off their talents in a non-traditional way. It’s called the Sweet Chalk Festival. Thousands travel to Lockport to see the masterpieces created.
    When you think of chalk you may think of pretty colors, summertime fun as a kid, or a teacher you may have had in grade school. Fifty artists both local and from afar think of it much differently. They view chalk as a tool to bring drawings to life.

     BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Police in Louisiana say that several officers have been shot in Baton Rouge while on duty.
    The shooting happened early Sunday, less than 1 mile from police headquarters.
    Baton Rouge Police Sgt. Don Coppola did not know the extent of the injuries or give the precise number of officers injured. He says they were rushed to a local hospital.

    Man dead after Lewiston crash
    TOWN OF LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man died in a crash that also led to a car fire.
    Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Ridge Road at Ransomville Road in Lewiston around 2:00 a.m. Sunday.
    A caller said a car went off the road, and its engine was on fire.
    Deputies and firefighters went to the scene, where the driver died.
    Investigators believe the driver failed to stop for a stop sign on Ridge Road.  They’re still looking into the crash.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- A refugee family became new homeowners Saturday after spending hundreds of hours working with Habitat for Humanity. They were handed the keys to a home on Glendale Pl.
