    Wife accused of stabbing husband in arm and throat
    TOWN OF HARTLAND, N.Y. (WIVB)- A Hartland woman is behind bars after she allegedly stabbed her husband during a fight at their home on Ridge Road Friday night.
    The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office says 40 year-old Christina Karlak stabbed her husband in the throat and arm. After the fight he drove himself to Eastern Niagara Hospital where he was airlifted by Mercy Flight.
    He is currently listed in serious condition.

    NEW YORK (AP) — Nobel laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel has died.
    His death was announced Saturday by Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. No other details were immediately available. Wiesel was 87.
    Wiesel shared his harrowing story of encampment at Auschwitz as a teenager through his classic memoir “Night,” one of the most widely read and discussed books of the 20th century.

    Woman dies after driving into Niagara River overnight
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) —  A 54 year-old West Seneca woman was pulled from her car in the Niagara River Saturday morning.
    Members of the Buffalo Police Underwater Recovery team were called to search for a vehicle in the river near the boat launch at Ontario Street around midnight. Officers jumped into the water and pulled the woman’s body from her submerged car.
    She was transported to Kenmore Mercy Hospital and pronounced dead.

    Car in water leads to search
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police and firefighters took part in a search for a car in the water early Saturday morning.
    First responders were called to the Niagara River at the end of Ontario Street around midnight, after receiving a report of a car in the water with a person or two inside.
    There are no indications so far how the car ended up in the river.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) —  A female was pulled from a car in the Niagara River Saturday morning.
    Members of the Buffalo Police Underwater Recovery team were called to the River at Ontario Street around midnight, to search the water after reports of the car going in; they initially were looking for as many as two people, but did pull one person from the water.
    Police are investigating the incident; they did not release the woman’s name or condition.

    Officials told News 4, just after 9 Thursday evening, a 25-year-old man was shot outside of a store front at the corner of Garner Avenue and Grant Street.

    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — Earlier this week the Suhrs received great news about baby Ella, that the chemotherapy part of her treatment was working, and what was once a soft ball size tumor had continued to shrink.
    More great news at the end of the week, as doctors believe they removed the entire tumor from her brain.
    News 4 first met Ella last month as the community of Lyndonville had banded together to help out Ella’s parents, Maegan and Joe, when they first learned of the diagnosis.
