• Suspect identified in shooting at Orlando club

  ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The suspect in the mass shooting at night club in Florida has been identified as Omar Mateen of Port St. Lucie, Florida.U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson identified the shooter in the Sunday incident. He cited law enforcement officials in speaking to reporters.
  A federal law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation also identified him. The official was not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

• Western New York veterans visit Washington D.C. with Honor Flight

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Dozens of veterans took the trip of a lifetime to Washington D.C. on Saturday through the program Honor Flight. This is the first trip Western New Yorkers have enjoyed since Honor Flight Buffalo dissolved earlier this year.
  They went along with the Albany branch, the Leatherstocking Honor Flight, and visited the World War II memorial, Iwo Jima memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.

  CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) — “I thought it was raining and when I looked in my backroom I saw nothing but orange. I went out in my family room and I looked outside and I saw the whole house was just inflamed.”
