    Thousands of bikers ride to raise awareness
    NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – Thousand of bikers participated in the 2016 Buffalo Niagara Tour de Cure Saturday.
    They rode for family, friends and strangers with one thing in common: they are affected by diabetes.
    The disease affects nearly 30 million Americans, according to diabetes.org.
    The ride kicked off and ended on Old Falls Street in Niagara Falls. Bikers rode anywhere between 6 to 100 mile routes.

    GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) — Hundreds took to the basketball court Saturday the popular Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
    For the second year in a row the tournament stayed on Grand Island.
    The tournament was held in Buffalo for 22 years before moving to Darien Lake, then Grand Island.
    The event is a fundraiser for the Buffalo Police Athletic League.
    The tournament will start again Sunday at 8:30 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 10 a.m.

    Buffalo Police investigate shooting on Deerfield Ave.
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Buffalo police are investigating an overnight shooting that occurred just before 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.
    Officers responded to the corner of Deerfield and Litchfield where they located a 23 year-old Buffalo man who had been shot.
    He was transported to ECMC where he is listed in stable condition.

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo’s West side park sits on Massachusetts Avenue and during the summertime you can find the park filled with young children playing sports and jumping on the playground.

    Prosecutors say 43-year-old Charles Henry faced sentencing on Friday, receiving a decision by a judge that he will spend 12 years in prison. Henry, who pleaded guilty to third degree-robbery and second-degree attempted robbery, admitted to at least one credit union robbery, a convenience store robbery and several other robberies.
