    Local Veterans get ‘suited-up’ in a new kind of uniform
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)  They say the clothes make the man. Now, some local veterans are getting suited up, for free. Area Veterans like Dwane Lewis Senior say getting outfitted in a donated suit boosts his confidence.
    On Armed Forces Day, local vets are treated to new duds through the “Suits For Troops” initiative. More than 12 thousand suits were donated to this program. A stylist was on hand on the SUNY Buffalo State campus to make sure everyone looked their best.

    TOWN OF BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two young children died in a house fire Friday night in the Town of Batavia.  Both victims are young boys, aged 2 or 3.
    The boys were found in a first-floor apartment in the back of the house on State Street Road.
    The fire started just before 10:00 p.m., according to Dan Coffey, Assistant Chief, Town of Batavia Fire Department.

    Town of Batavia, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two young children died in a house fire Friday night in the Town of Batavia.  Both victims are young boys, aged 2 or 3.
    At one point a woman tried to go back into the burning house on State Street Road.
    The fire caused heavy smoke, with much of the damage in the back of the house.

    WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – A criminal complaint obtained by Media General Contributors details charges against a former Manawa special education teacher accused of abusing a student with autism.
    David D. Bessette is charged with felony counts of Mental Harm to a Child and Physical Abuse of a Child in Waupaca County.
    The complaint states the incident happened January 28, 2016 at Little Wolf Junior/Senior High School.

    Generous donations provide 12,000 suits to vets in Buffalo
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An army of suits are waiting to head to their next mission on the backs of veterans in Buffalo thanks to generous donations.
    The City of Good Neighbors donated 12,000 suits for a special event at Buffalo State College on Saturday. All veterans or military dependents in need of a suit are invited to attend the event at the Buffalo State Student Union between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.

    Boat catches fire in Canalside’s waters
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Fire and Coast Guard officials responded to the scene of a boat on fire in the waters of Buffalo’s Canalside.
    The boat, which was adrift in the canals, shot black smoke high into the air, visible across downtown. Many at Coca Cola Field watching the Buffalo Bisons remarked at the visible smoke.
    One fire boat responded to fight the fire, and an engine pulled up to oversee the operations. It took firefighters roughly an hour to knock down the blaze.
