    Public hearing set for plan to dewater American Falls
    Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WIVB)- Niagara Falls could run dry again. State leaders are considering rehabilitating or replacing the bridges that connect Niagara Falls, Green Island and Goat Island. The bridges are more than 100 years old.
    New York State Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation at the Department of Transportation put together a proposal in October 2015 explaining three options: maintenance, rehabilitation or replacement.

    Small fire breaks out at Richardson Complex site
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Crews responded to a small fire on the first floor of the historic Richardson Complex site around noon Sunday.
    The fire caused around $2,000 worth of damage and there are no reported injuries.
    The cause remains under investigation.
    The complex, formerly the Buffalo Psychiatric Center, began undergoing construction in 2014. It is in the midst of being renovated to a hotel and event space expected to be complete sometime this Fall.

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — J. Stewart Bryan III passed away Saturday at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital. He was 77 years old. His death resulted from complications related to neck injuries sustained in a fall on January 15. Bryan was part a Richmond family that produced four generations of media entrepreneurs.     ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A magnitude-6.8 earthquake knocked items off shelves and walls in south-central Alaska and jolted the nerves of residents in this earthquake-prone region, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
    The earthquake struck about 1:30 a.m. Alaska time and was centered 53 miles west of Anchor Point and 160 miles southwest of Anchorage, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. In its initial report, the agency had classified the earthquake as a magnitude-7.1 event.

    Many flights to and from cities affected by the East Coast storm are being canceled Sunday, after thousands of flights were grounded Saturday.

    WASHINGTON (AP) — Officials say three people have died while shoveling snow during the blizzard in New York City and two more died of hypothermia in Virginia, bringing weather-related deaths to at least 18.
