    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — Following three failed attempts, the Amherst Town Board on Monday approved an environmental impact statement for the former Westwood Country Club.
    The vote, which passed narrowly 3 to 2, is the first movement toward the future of the 170-acre property in close to two years.

    Police search for two larceny suspects
    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — Officers are on the hunt for two suspects behind a larceny in Amherst.
    Amherst Police obtained security footage of two people who entered a Harlem Road store on Dec. 14 at about 7 p.m. Officers say the people captured on camera are described as a white or Hispanic male and a white female, both roughly 30-years-old.

    Hoskins was ordered to sell 29 of her 64 horses last year after she was convicted of animal abuse. The SPCA says Hoskins did not go through with the $50,000 court-approved sale of the horses to a Rochester farm over the weekend.

    ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York state will soon mandate that new smoke detectors contain 10-year, non-removable batteries.

    The Erie County SPCA says Beth Hoskins refused to sell her horses, despite a judge’s order.
