    Armed man arrested at Arkansas State University; no shots
    JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — An armed man who had posted on Facebook that he was homicidal drove onto Arkansas State University on Thursday, sparking a campus lockdown before police took him into custody without any shots fired, university and police officials said.
    University spokesman Bill Smith said the man was taken into custody about an hour after the incident began. The university lifted a lockdown for all parts of campus except for the east side of the student union.

    AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A woman convicted of abusing 52 horses on a farm in Aurora will not face any more jail time after failing to pay fines.
    Instead, Beth Hoskins faces a $52,325 civil judgement. Hoskins was originally found guilty of improperly caring for the horses on her farm in 2012 and convicted of 52 charges of animal cruelty.
    She was then sentenced to probation, but served 60 days of a 90 day jail sentence for violating it.

    CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A small plane had to make an emergency landing at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Thursday morning.
    NFTA spokesman Doug Hartmayer said around 8:45 in the morning, authorities were notified that the private aircraft’s landing gear was stuck in the down position.
