  ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)- U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer wants the Food and Drug Administration to investigate a new caffeinated peanut butter that targets the athletic and fitness market.

  GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) – A NYS Trooper was hit by a car on the I-190 South Saturday night.
  That trooper was taken to ECMC for treatment. Another person was hurt in the crash and taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. News 4 is still working to find out their conditions.

  GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) – A New York State Trooper was hit by a car on Interstate 190 Saturday night.
  That trooper was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. Another person was hurt in the crash and taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, according to the Grand Island Fire Company.The trooper’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to State Police.

  Trooper Joseph Menna, SP Buffalo, stopped a Chevrolet Suburban around 9:20 p.m. for a traffic violation.

• Childhood obesity a growing problem in Erie County

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Far too many of Erie County’s children are obese. In fact, nearly a third of them are overweight. And like local young waistlines, the problem is growing.
  That’s according to a study released Friday by the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, as part of the organization’s Annual Report to the Community.
  Most troubling, the report shows childhood obesity in Erie County rose to 32 percent, from 28 percent in 2008, mostly in lower income areas.
