    Childhood obesity a growing problem in Erie County
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Far too many of Erie County’s children are obese. In fact, nearly a third of them are overweight. And like local young waistlines, the problem is growing.
    That’s according to a study released Friday by the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, as part of the organization’s Annual Report to the Community.
    Most troubling, the report shows childhood obesity in Erie County rose to 32 percent, from 28 percent in 2008, mostly in lower income areas.
