• Schumer urges testing, disclosure of Halloween makeup

  ALBANY, N.Y. (AP)- Sen. Charles Schumer is calling for federal authorities to routinely test and require full disclosure of components in Halloween makeup.The New York Democrat says novelty makeup and face paint are often made in China and can contain metals that could pose a danger to children wearing them.

(AP)- A New York state lawmaker says the state should prohibit the use of Styrofoam doggy bags at restaurants.Assemblyman Tom Abinanti, a Democrat, says he has written legislation which would make it illegal for restaurants to use the Styrofoam containers when diners ask to take leftovers home.

  BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- The Lexington Co-op has reached a new milestone.
  Over 400 members have helped to raise the $2 million dollars needed to open it’s second location on Hertel Ave.
  The Co-op announced that is successfully reached its capital campaign goal, which means that the Hertel location will be opening in 2016. The lease was signed in February to open a new store at the old CVS building on Hertel.

  Orchard Park, N.Y. (WIVB) — All indications are that EJ Manuel will take the field to start Sunday’s Bills game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
  On Saturday, ESPN reported Manuel would be selected to start, over Tyrod Taylor who is nursing a knee injury.Sunday morning, NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport also reported Manuel would start.He has not started in over a year.

• Volunteer fire companies reimbursed for Snowvember aid

  ELMA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Some local volunteer fire crews are being reimbursed for their efforts during last year’s November storm. They’re receiving checks from the county to help with funding after get had to dip into their own pockets.
   
  This aid is coming 11 month after that rare November storm shut down many communities. When storms come through though, first responders don’t stop.

  JERUSALEM (AP) — Palestinian assailants carried out five stabbing attacks in Jerusalem and the West Bank on Saturday, authorities said, as a month-long outburst of violence showed no signs of abating.
