    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Nearly 900 Buffalo State students, faculty, staff and administrators joined forces to help area organizations Saturday.

    Tree cutter falls to his death
    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – A 39-year-old man working as a tree cutter fell from a tree to his death Saturday morning.
    Amherst Police said the accident happened around 10 a.m. on Hopkins Road.
    The victim, Christopher Gordon of Niagara Falls, was cutting a large limb from a tree when another limb fell on him. Gordon fell 35 feet to the ground.
    He was taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    NY man sentenced to 4½ years for hiding drugs in buttocks
    ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A New York man is facing 4½ years in state prison for hiding crack cocaine in his buttocks.
    The Times Union of Albany reports (http://bit.ly/1KsPh54 ) that 41-year-old Michael Williams of Colonie was sentenced Friday in Albany County Court.
    Williams was arrested March 6 in Colonie on a marijuana charge and an outstanding warrant.
    The Times Union reports that he was searched at the station and found to have 6.8 grams of crack cocaine in his buttocks.

    Police say the man passed the fake bills at a Walmart on Thruway Plaza Drive at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Sept. 3.The man appears to be in his late 20’s or early 30’s and is approximately 6’ 2” tall, with black hair and beard.

    The incident happened just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday, outside of Maggie’s Bar at 715 Military Road.
    Buffalo Police say one person was stabbed in connection with a dispute involving a number of individuals.
    The 23-year-old male victim was transported to ECMC where he is undergoing surgery.

    A memorial service for Lindy Dobbins was held at St. John the Baptist Church in Kenmore Friday for the slain wife and mother.
    Police say Dobbins got in the middle of a domestic dispute that ended as a double murder.
