    JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police charged a 57-year-old man with felony DWI after they say he was seen driving without headlights in the middle of the night.
    State police report that Richard F. Katzenberger was heading down Second Street in Jamestown at around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 11 when he was pulled over and failed field sobriety tests.

    Police say the report detailed a man in the general vicinity of the Student Union who dropped a handgun, picked it back up, placing it in his waistband before exiting the building.
    Police on UB’s north campus say the reports are unconfirmed reports, as police weren’t able to find a person matching the description.

    Drive sober campaign nets 16 DWIs, hundreds of tickets
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An initiative to crack down on unsafe drivers has made Erie County roads a little safer.
    The Erie County Sheriff’s Office reports that its “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign resulted in 16 arrests for DWI between Aug. 20 and Sept. 7.
    Deputies were also on the lookout for distracted drivers during the two-week period, handing out a total of 649 traffic summonses.

    Officials say they closed down Gunnville Road for a time while they worked to contain a fire at a house on the road. Investigators got to work after knocking down the 6 a.m. fire, saying they learned a wet electrical line likely sparked the flames.
