    AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — “Waiting at the Door” is the name Akram Shibly has given to his documentary on the plight of Syrian refugees currently in camps in the Middle East.
    He traveled to the camps in Jordan recently with his father and sister.
    One camp in particular houses children and mothers who lost fathers and husbands.

    HILO, Hawaii (AP) — Part of King Kamehameha’s spear is missing.
    Police on Hawaii’s Big Island are asking the public for help locating the top section of the spear that’s part of the statue of the Hawaiian warrior in Hilo (HEE’-loh).
    Police say the spear was last seen Saturday and was reported missing Sunday.
    The bronze spear with a golden tip is about 6 feet long.

    KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — Police and medics rushed to a Kettering home after they say a husband accidentally shot his wife.
    It happened after 10 a.m. in the 1500 block of Springhill Avenue.
    According to police, the husband shot his wife in the ankle in the living room of their home. Officials said he was trying to show her how to operate the gun when he fired the shot. Police said they believe the incident was accidental.
