    University of Michigan student builds, lives in tiny house
    ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — A University of Michigan computer science junior has moved into a 170-square-foot home he built himself.
    Christopher Cerk, 21, loaded the tiny house on a trailer and hauled it with him for the start of fall classes, The Ann Arbor News reported (http://bit.ly/1NUz3s0 ) Saturday.
    Cerk is not revealing the location because the small size could violate local rules. Ann Arbor city ordinance requires homes to be 450 square feet or more, according to the newspaper.

    Early morning fire damages 3 homes
    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – An early morning fire ripped through a vacant house on Filmore Avenue.
    Firefighters responded to a call at 345 Filmore just before 1:00 a.m.  Sunday.
    A two and a half story home became fully involved, spreading to the two neighboring houses and damaging their exterior walls.
    Fire officials estimate damages to be $58,000 for the three properties.
    A full investigation into the cause is underway.

    BUFFALO, N.Y (WIVB) – The NFTA has announced that starting September 8 the Allen Medical Campus Rail Station will be temporarily closed.
    The closing is a result of ongoing construction taking place at the rail station as the University at Buffalo continues the expansion of their medical campus.

    Chicago police find child’s body parts near Garfield Park
    CHICAGO (CNN) –  Police discovered the body parts of a child Saturday afternoon near Chicago’s Garfield Park, the Chicago Police Department said.After a foot turned up, police initiated a search and found further parts.
    The park, which is centrally located near Chicago’s New West Side, has been closed. The investigation is ongoing.
    Multiple police vehicles and officers responded, and officers continued searching into the night, video footage from CNN affiliate WLS showed.

    HARTLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) – Niagara County Sheriff’s responded to a call of a motor vehicle accident late Saturday afternoon that left one man with serious injuries.
