• Family gives student-athletes heart screenings to honor son

  SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - An Ohio family has given 30 student-athletes free heart screenings in honor of their son who died from an undiagnosed heart condition after hockey practice.  Cleveland.com reports the 4Alec Foundation was named after Alec Kornet and hosted screenings for athletes from Brush High School's hockey and basketball teams. • State police: 5 killed in shooting at Pennsylvania car wash

  MELCROFT, Pa. - State police say at least five people were killed in a shooting at a Pennsylvania car wash.  WPXI-TV reports the shooting occurred around 2:45 a.m. Sunday in Melcroft.  Melcroft is about 55 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.  The victims were identified only as three men and two women. • Man in custody after allegedly participating in card skimming ring

  BATON ROUGE - A 27-year-old Memphis man is in custody on the charge of violating the anti-skimming act.Authorities say Costinel Matei was part of an organized ring that committed multiple skimming and credit card cloning crimes throughout south Louisiana. Matei was originally arrested back in December 2017 along with five other suspects.An East Baton Rouge resident told law enforcement his debit card had been cloned and used to make unauthorized withdrawals totaling over $1,400.   PATTERSON - A portion of LA Hwy. 182 has been shut down due to a fire on Lincoln Drive in St. Mary Parish.According to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies are assisting fire departments at the scene in Patterson.   BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 36-year-old Baton Rouge man early Sunday morning.According to BRPD, the shooting happened in the 800 block of Scenic Hwy. around 3:00 a.m.The victim, Byron Jenkins, was observed in a parking lot suffering from gunshot injuries.
