• Report: Trump adviser's husband picked for Justice post

  WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump has chosen the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway to head the civil division of the Justice Department.
      
  The Wall Street Journal reports that George Conway was chosen to head the office that has responsibility for defending the administration's proposed travel ban and defending lawsuits filed against the administration.

• Rock 'n' roll legend Chuck Berry dies at 90

  ST. LOUIS - Chuck Berry, the rock 'n' roll founder who defined its joy and rebellion in "Johnny B. Goode" and other classics, has died in St. Charles County, Missouri, west of St. Louis. He was 90.
      
  St. Charles county police say they responded to a medical emergency Saturday afternoon and found Berry unresponsive. He could not be revived and was pronounced dead.

  BOSSIER CITY - Bossier City Police are investigating a shooting that's left a teenager with a life-threatening gunshot wound.Authorities say officers were called to a home about 1 p.m. Saturday and found a 14-year-old boy sitting in a car parked in the driveway of his home.   HOUSTON, Tx. - Several members of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office traveled to Houston, Texas to visit Deputy Nick Tullier Friday.The visitors included Sheriff Sid Gautreaux and Sgt. Bruce Simmons among others. A Facebook post showed the visitors standing alongside Tullier in his wheelchair.
  Tullier was shot and injured in an ambush in July on Airline Highway. He spent months hospitalized in Baton Rouge before moving to The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR)

  BATON ROUGE - A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle while attempting to cross Airline Highway Saturday morning.According to BRPD, 42-year-old Jill Valori was struck by a 2015 Toyota Corolla while attempting to cross the roadway in the 6300 block of Airline Hwy. around 4:30 a.m. Valori was pronounced dead at the scene.The 24-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.The crash is still under investigation.Permalink| Comments

  BATON ROUGE - One man was killed in a motorcycle crash on LA 67 around noon Saturday.According to Louisiana State Police, 43-year-old Raymond Hawthorne of Donaldsonville was driving on LA 67 near Blount Road when he failed to make a lefthand turn and drove off the roadway.   BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a teenager Friday in connection to an arson on Victoria Drive.The arson occurred Mar. 11, in lot 107 of Victoria Drive.According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, a witness identified the 15-year-old suspect in a line-up and he was taken into custody late Friday night. Investigators say the arson was the result of a fight between neighbors.The juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center for aggravated arson.
