  BATON ROUGE – Callers and online users donated more than $160,000 Thursday night during WBRZ-TV's Unite for our Heroes Telethon.Although the final amount is still being calculated, volunteers with Postlethwaite and Netterville say more than $160,000 was raised for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation's East Baton Rouge First Responder's Fund.Donations included $10,000 from the Manship family, $10,000 from Whitney Bank, $6,008 from Scott Wilson and Table Kitchen and Bar and $5,500 from GoAut

  DENHAM SPRINGS – A boil water advisory has been issued for an area of Denham Springs on Thursday afternoon.
  The advisory is for the area of Lockhart Road between Dunn Road and Cockerham Road.

  VACHERIE – A man was saved from drowning by an off duty Port Allen officer and two good Samaritans after his car became submerged in a bayou in St. James Parish.

• Thieves stealing laptop possibly saved dog's life

  CHICAGO – It may have been in the midst of a crime, but four thieves may have saved a dog's life in Chicago.Four men smashed a window and stole a laptop from a truck parked outside of a neighborhood pub. However, it turns that a German Shepard was baking from the scorching heat inside the truck.

  SHREVEPORT - Federal authorities say a man and woman have been found guilty of having a minor female from Texas engage in prostitution.
      
  U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley Tyrone said in a news release 37-year-old Larry Smith and 33-year-old and Lacoya Washington, both of Shreveport, were found guilty Wednesday on one count of sex trafficking of a minor.
