  The first and only death within the system was an inmate, in his 60s with underlying medical conditions who had been hospitalized for weeks. Of the 45 inmates with coronavirus, five have recovered.

  BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A man was shot and killed in broad daylight in Baltimore Thursday morning.
  Police responded to the 4500 block of Wakefield Road for a reported shooting around 9:28 a.m.
  There they found a 44-year-old man was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
  This would be the 85th homicide in the city so far this year.

• Man Allegedly Shot As He Tries To Flee From 3 Suspects In SW Baltimore, Police Investigating

  BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A man was injured in a shooting in southwest Baltimore late Wednesday.
  According to police, a 37-year-old man was walking in the 3400 block of Wilkens Avenue when he was approached by three suspects, one of whom was armed. When the man tried to flee, he was allegedly shot in the hand.
  When police arrived around 10:28 p.m., the man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
  There have been 170 non-fatal shootings to date this year.
