    WASHINGTON (AP) — Infielder Starlin Castro finalized a two-year contract with the Washington Nationals on Tuesday, one of a flurry of recent moves by the World Series champions.

    State Police Get Over 300 Calls For Service In 2 Hours As First Snow Of 2020 Falls In Maryland
    REISTERSTOWN, Md. (WJZ) — The inclement weather that moved through much of the region caused headaches for drivers across Maryland on Tuesday.
    Maryland State Police said — just before 5 p.m. — that they had received 200 calls for service due to inclement weather.
    In total, there were 365 calls between noon and 9 p.m. There were 82 crashes and 37 disabled/unattended vehicles, according to police.
    A winter weather advisory was issued around the state from noon until 7 p.m.

    WASHINGTON (AP) — T.J. Oshie and Alex Ovechkin each scored two goals as the Washington Capitals beat the Ottawa Senators 6-1 on Tuesday night.

    Marylanders Bothered Most By Robocalls In 2019, Study Finds
    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — If you think you received a lot of robocalls last year, you’re right.
    It turns out Maryland was the state bothered most by robocalls in 2019. A new report conducted by LetsTalk found Marylanders received an average of 18 robocalls per-month.
    That’s quite a difference from the three robocalls that Alaska residents received.
    In the study, LetsTalk examined robocall complaints and assigned each state a score.

    TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (WJZ) — Police in Prince George’s County have arrested three suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Temple Hills on Monday.
    Rashaud Richardson, 26, Cornell Washington, 30, and Terrence McNatt, 33, have been charged with the fatal shooting of Bryan Gibbs.

    Hogan Proposes Ethics Bill Citing Recent Political Corruption
    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has proposed a new ethics bill, calling on state lawmakers to hold themselves accountable.
    The bill would increase fines for bribery by 1,000 percent, eliminate taxpayer-funded pensions for convicted lawmakers and would add direct intervention by the ethics commission.
    The bill comes after two delegates — Tawanna Gaines and Cheryl Glenn — resigned last year after being indicted for bribery.

    Prosecutors said two men wanted to kill a whistleblower and targeted the wrong woman, Latrina Ashburne, whose homicide case puzzled police at the time.
