    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Ms. Bessie Elizabeth Harding moved to Baltimore in the 1930s. She was in her 20s back then, and now at 110 years old, she’s the oldest living Baltimore resident.
    And as family and friends gathered to celebrate her birthday, she didn’t waste the opportunity to remind them.
    “Don’t ever turn nobody down that needs help, and you can help them,” Harding said.
    That’s just how she lives her life, and what she credits for her longevity.

    CHATHAM, Ontario (CBS Local) — A dog found keeping five kittens warm on the side of a road on a cold night in Canada was rescued and will soon be available for adoption.
    Pet and Wildlife Rescue said an animal control officer picked up the family of six after a “good citizen” spotted them in mid-November and called the shelter in Chatham, Ontario.
    The dog, now named Serenity, is estimated to be about two years old.

    MANCHESTER, Md. (WJZ) — An Anne Arundel County firefighter died in a motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning, according to the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department.Police said Brent Hahn was driving on MD 27 near Manchester just after 4 a.m. Sunday morning when his vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree.
    He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 24-years-old.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — It’s a special birthday celebration for a Baltimore resident who will mark a major milestone this week.
    Bessie Elizabeth Harding turns 110 years old this week, and Monday she will celebrate with a proclamation from Baltimore Mayor Jack Young.
    Harding moved to Baltimore in the mid-1930s, and waited on tables at the Mount Vernon Club on Mount Vernon Place for more than 30 years.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police are investigating after two men were shot in east Baltimore earlier Sunday evening.
    At around 6:09 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Greenmount Ave, where they found a 22-year-old man and 28-year-old man, both shot in the torso.
    Medics took both victims to area hospitals where the 22-year-old was pronounced dead.
