    ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CBS Local) — Scientists are blaming unprecedented heat wave this summer for reduced salmon populations in parts of Alaska.
    Researchers say they found more than 800 dead salmon at the end of July during an expedition along Alaska’s Koyokuk River. They estimated the total was likely four to 10 times larger.

    LAUREL, Md. (WJZ) — Police officers never know what type of call they may end up on, but a group of Laurel police officers never suspected they would have to turn a car into a delivery room.

    BOWIE, Md. (AP) — Maryland authorities say a body found over the weekend while firefighters battled a brush fire is a homicide victim.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — An investigation is underway after several cars’ tires were slashed in a North Baltimore community.
    The slashings happened on Northwood Drive, police said they got the call at around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
    Police took 12 reports on the scene, but neighbors said 20 tires were slashed overall.
    Repairment fixed what they could, as tow trucks were called in for the more heavily damaged vehicles.
