• Large Tree Falls In Towson Damaging Power Lines, Leaving BGE Customers Without Service

    TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — A large tree that fell in Towson Friday afternoon is causing headaches for BGE customers throughout the area.
    The tree fell along the 1500 block of Providence Road near Roxleigh Road.
    The tree knocked down wiring and damaged a pole.
    There are currently 160 BGE customers without power and that number is expected to rise throughout the night.
    Crews said that they will have to cut power completely to solve the problem.

    CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — Fire marshals are investigating after a car in Charles County caught fire early Friday morning.
    At around 3:41 a.m., Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department responded to a 2012 Dodge Charger on fire, discovered by a local resident.

    OCEAN CITY, Md. (WJZ) — Ocean City Police are investigating the events that led to a fatal crash overnight Friday morning.
    Police said they attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, a white Lexus LX570, after getting a call for a drunk driver at around 1:45 a.m.

    The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit is now investigating his death as a homicide.
    Copeland’s body was found on June 17 at around 5 p.m. after a woman walking her dog along a trail in the park discovered the body near RIver and Thistle roads.

    MILLINGTON, Md. (AP) — Gov. Larry Hogan will give the eulogy at the funeral of former Maryland House Speaker Clayton Mitchell.
    The funeral is scheduled for Friday morning in Millington, Maryland.
