  The Maryland General Assembly is considering new penalties for hanging nooses and racial graffiti.
  There have been a number of racially-charged incidents around the state recently, including swastika graffiti on cars in Lochearn, racist flyers on lawns in Glen Burnie and a noose hung in Patterson Park- but it was a noose at Crofton Middle School that prompted the bill introduced Tuesday.

  ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) — A 29-year-old man is accused of stealing an SUV in Annapolis while carrying bottles of urine.
  Investigators said Dustin Booze took the vehicle Sunday while the car’s owner left the engine running to warm the car up.
  They said he then led police on a chase down I-97, but police were able to make the arrest after the car had a mechanical failure.

  BALTIMORE (WJZ) — People making minimum wage work many different types of jobs. The federal rate is $7.25 per hour, while in Maryland it’s currently $10.10, but a bill in Annapolis would gradually raise it to $15 an hour by 2023.
  “A $15 per hour minimum wage would give almost 600,000 working people a raise and help lift them up from poverty,” said Del. Diana Fennell, who is sponsoring the bill.
