    CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WJZ) — Prince George’s County detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Wednesday morning in Capitol Heights.
    Officers were called to the 5900 block of Baltic Ave. at 8:20 a.m. for a report of an injured person.
    There, they found 26-year-old Regis Payne lying unresponsive in the street.
    Police said he had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Eric DeCosta, who started as a scouting intern with the Baltimore Ravens in 1996, will begin his new role as general manager this Friday.

    (CNN) — As America continues to combat its opioid epidemic, the rate of deaths from drug overdoses among women has soared in recent years, according to new data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

  • National Park Service Resumes Maintenance On DC-Area Parks Amid Shutdown

    WASHINGTON, DC (WJZ) — The National Park Service will resume trash collection, urgent roadwork and sanitation services at its parks within DC starting Friday.

    PERRY HALL, Md. (WJZ) — Baltimore County Police said they have apprehended a suspect in an armed robbery in Perry Hall Wednesday night.
    According to police, officers responded to a call for an armed robbery at the Gulf station at the corner of Ebenezer and Bel Air roads around 8:20 p.m.
    Because of the quick response and with help from the police aviation unit, a suspect was apprehended.
