    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Almost three years after she was shot and killed on her family porch, 28-year-old Terrell Plumber admitted firing the gun that killed the toddler.
    His arrest was a result of the federal program, Project Safe Neighborhoods.
    Project Safe Neighborhoods is nationwide and is the centerpiece of the Department of Justice’s violent crime reduction efforts. It was just awarded a $30 million dollar federal grant.

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Maryland appeals court says a former small-town police chief convicted of misconduct in office deserves a new trial.
    Former Pocomoke City chief Kelvin Sewell was convicted in 2016 following a 2014 hit-and-run incident involving Douglas Matthews, a Maryland correctional officer and fellow local Masonic lodge member.

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A U.S. Naval Academy midshipman has pleaded guilty to using and distributing illegal drugs.
    The academy announced Friday that Zachary Williams pleaded guilty at a general court-martial.
    Williams, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, has been sentenced to 13 months confinement and dismissal from the Navy. He pleaded guilty at the Washington Navy Yard on Thursday.
