    BALTIMORE (WJZ)  — Three people are injured after two separate afternoon shootings Friday.
    At around 1:38 p.m., officers in East Baltimore heard gunshots while patrolling in an area near East 20th Street.
    Officers canvassed the areas and found a woman in the 1000 block of East 20th Street with a gunshot wound to the arm.
    The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

  • Public School Worker Admits To Using Racist Slur, Retires

    WASHINGTON (AP) — A now-former librarian at a Maryland public school was filmed admitting to calling a black man a racist slur and has since retired.
    Prince George’s County Schools interim CEO Monica Goldson confirmed the retirement.
    Authorities haven’t released the employee’s identity.

  • Police: 6-Year-Old Boy Killed In Possible Road Rage Crash

    SALISBURY, Md. (AP) — Police say a 6-year-old boy has been killed in a car crash that appeared to be the result of a road rage incident along a highway on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
    A Maryland State Police news release says the child, Kaleb Chatmon, was a passenger in a pickup truck that swerved off Route 13 in Wicomico County and struck a tree on Thursday night. The truck’s driver, 55-year-old Kenneth Chatmon, of Salisbury, was critically injured and taken to a hospital.

    HILLCREST HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a Maryland woman is dead after a crash near the Prince George’s County line with Washington, D.C.

    ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — Police said a road rage incident ended with a victim being stabbed in the hip.

  • UMD Campus Concerns Grow Over 6 Confirmed Adenovirus Cases, Mold

    COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) — Officials at the University of Maryland College Park are trying to calm fears that mold issues are linked to a viral outbreak.
    The University has now seen six confirmed cases of adenovirus with one death.
    The school has said that student well-being is a top priority, they acknowledge that mold can make people more susceptible to viral infections, but they said there is no consistent connection to the outbreak of adenovirus.

  • Police Respond To Two Shootings In SW Baltimore On Thanksgiving Night

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Two shootings were reported Thanksgiving evening in Southwest Baltimore, leaving two people injured.
    Police were dispatched to an area hospital at around 5:24 p.m. to investigate a reported walk-in shooting victim seeking treatment.
    When they arrived at the hospital they observed a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the leg.
    The victim told officers he was shot near the intersection of Christian Street and Millington Avenue.
