    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — It was a big morning for the Y of Central Maryland as 17,000 runners and walkers took part in their biggest fundraiser of the year.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — It’s one of Baltimore’s most notable Thanksgiving traditions, the Bea Gaddy Thanksgiving dinner feeds tens of thousands of hungry residents.
    Volunteers start prep here as early as 4am, getting thousands of meals ready to eat or be delivered. For 37 years, Thanksgiving in Baltimore has been headlined by Bea Gaddy.

  • Officials: Man Tried To Use Extinguisher, Tried To Save Mom In Bethesda Fire

    BETHESDA, Md. (WJZ) — More information is coming out of Montgomery County on a deadly fire Wednesday.
    Fire officials say a man tried to put out the fire with an extinguisher, but when that did not work he tried to escape his burning home with his elderly mother.
    Neither made it out.
    Their identities have not been released.
    Fire officials said the home did not have any working smoke detectors.
    Investigators said the cause of the fire appears accidental.

    LUTHERVILLE-TIMONIUM, Md. (WJZ) — Firefighters responded Thursday afternoon to a “heavy fire” on Greenspring Avenue where they reported seeing flames coming from the roof of a three-story home.

    WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WJZ) — A woman currently awaits her court date after being charged with killing her husband during an argument in their home Wednesday night.

  • Man Arrested For A Shooting In Walmart Parking Lot

    POCOMOKE CITY, Md. (WJZ) — An 18-year-old was arrested for a shooting at the Pocomoke City Walmart parking lot. The incident happened the morning of Nov. 19.
    Nathan Lee Smith was apprehended in Hurlock by the US Marshals Capital Area Fugitive Task Force.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — MDTA police have confirmed a death at BWI Airport on Wednesday, after an isolated incident.
    A call came in at 7:35 p.m. for a report of a medical emergency at BWI, officials say. Police would not specify how the person died.

    ESSEX, Md. (WJZ) — Baltimore County Police are investigating a shooting in Essex after the victim is driven to an area hospital by a friend.

  • Maryland Cites Company For ‘Willfull, Serious’ Violations In Baltimore Trench Collapse That Killed Worker

    BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) — The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Agency recommends a major fine against a construction company following the death of a contractor.
