  • Fire Crews Rescue Dog Stuck In A Stream

    ARBUTUS, Md. (WJZ) — Fire crews were able to rescue a dog that became stuck in a stream in Arbutus.
    The Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department was called at 3 p.m. about a dog that was stuck and struggling in a stream near the 800 block of Warwick Ave.
    Firefighters and a swiftwater rescue team responded to the scene.
    They were able to find the dog, and rescue it from the East Branch Herbert Run.
    Baltimore County Animal Services was called to care for the dog.

    DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ) — An 87-year-old man was killed Sunday afternoon while crossing the street in Dundalk.
    The Baltimore County Police Department reports the crash happened at 2:40 p.m., on Belclare Rd. near Dundalk Ave.
    Responding officers found that a 2007 Ford E350 van was westbound on Belclare Rd., when the van struck a man who was crossing inside the marked crosswalk.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ/AP) — A Maryland judge has ordered that a former bishop stay behind bars after she asked for her five-year sentence to be reduced.
    Heather Cook appeared before Baltimore Circuit Judge Timothy Doory Monday in hopes he would release the former Episcopal bishop from jail today.

    BALTIMORE (AP) — A Maryland judge is set to decide whether to reduce a prison sentence for a former Episcopal bishop who was drunk and texting when she struck and killed a bicyclist with her vehicle.
