  • Florida Yoga Studio Gunman Scott Beierle Was Formerly A Maryland Teacher

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WJZ/AP) — The Florida gunman who killed two people at a Tallahassee yoga studio before taking his own life was formerly a teacher in Maryland.
    According to Anne Arundel County Public Schools spokesman Bob Mosier, Scott Beierle was a teacher at Meade High School in 2005.

    JESSUP, Md. (AP) — Homicide investigators say they expect to file murder charges after an inmate’s death inside a maximum security prison in Maryland.
    Maryland State Police say they are investigating the apparent murder of 44-year-old David I. Stephenson in his Jessup Correctional Institution cell early Friday. Investigators say they’ve identified a fellow inmate as a suspect, but his name is being withheld until charges are filed.

    JESSUP, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland State Police are investigating the apparent murder of a state prison inmate found dead in his cell early Friday in Anne Arundel County.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A new study suggests hot coffee might be healthier than cold-brew coffee.
    Thomas Jefferson University researchers found that hot coffee has higher levels of health benefiting antioxidants.
    They also found both hot and cold brews have similar levels of acidity.
    Some scientists had believed that cold brew had less acid, and would cause less heartburn and stomach problems.
