• Baltimore County Offices Will Close For Election Day

    TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — Some local government offices will be closed Tuesday for Election Day, Baltimore County announced Friday.
    Baltimore County government offices, and the District and Circuit Courts will be closed.
    Health department clinics and senior centers will be closed, and CountyRide vans will not operate.
    Parking meters still must be fed, the county said in a release. Baltimore County Revenue Authority parking garages will be open as usual, along with libraries.

    HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — Both candidates for Howard County executive are ready for a weekend of non-stop campaigning.
    Incumbent Republican Allan Kittleman and Democratic challenger Calvin Ball are veteran elected officials, Kittleman is a former state senator wrapping up his first term as county executive, while Ball is a 4-term Howard County councilman.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — There’s a plea for more information after an off-duty Washington DC police officer was killed in Baltimore one year ago.
    Officer Tony Mason, Jr. was killed inside a car November 4, 2017 in the 2800 block of Elgin Avenue.
    A woman in the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
    There is now a reward of up to $60,000 for information on the case.

  • Supreme Court Agrees To Hear Maryland Cross Memorial Case

    WASHINGTON (AP) – The Supreme Court has agreed to consider whether a nearly 100-year-old, cross-shaped war memorial located on a Maryland highway median violates the Constitution’s required separation of church and state.
    The court announced Friday that it would hear the case.
    The memorial’s supporters say the case could affect hundreds of similar monuments nationwide.
