    COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) — The University of Maryland has parted ways with head coach DJ Durkin.
    The University terminated Durkin on Wednesday according to a university spokeswoman.
    Durkin will leave the University without coaching a single game in the 2018 season after a five-month-long controversy in the wake of UMD football player Jordan McNair’s collapse of heat stroke and death, along with reports of a “toxic” football culture at Maryland.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A man was shot to death in Southwest Baltimore on Wednesday.
    Police were dispatched to the 200 block of North Monastery Avenue at around 2:15 p.m. to investigate a reported shooting. When they arrived, they observed the man suffering gunshot wounds.
    He was pronounced dead on the scene.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police say they are investigating a double shooting at a Baltimore barbershop.
    The shooting happened at a barbershop at Hollins and Arlington Ave.
