    BALTIMORE (AP) – Funeral directors in Maryland are increasingly concerned their employees could be exposed to opioids. That’s why some are stocking naloxone, the medication the reverses the effects of an overdose.
    The Baltimore Sun reported Friday that funeral directors are calling themselves the “last responders” to the opioid epidemic. The concern is that employees could come into contact with opioids on a dead person’s body or the clothes of a mourner.

    BETHESDA, Va. (AP) – The suburban Maryland home of the late John Glenn has been sold for $1.3 million.
    WTOP in Washington reported Saturday that the dwelling that had belonged to the former astronaut and U.S. Senator from Ohio had been on the market for five months.
    The five-bedroom Cape Cod-style house in Bethesda was initially listed for $1.65 million. It sold at the end of August.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A 30-year-old man taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds early Saturday morning was found with a loaded handgun.
    Detectives learned that the man was shot in the 4100 block of Frederick Ave. just before 5:15 a.m.

  • Double Parkville Non-Fatal Shooting, Possible Targeted Attack

    PARKVILLE, Md. (WJZ) — A call came in for a double shooting at 9:04 p.m. Friday night.
    Police responded to the 8600 block of Wendell Avenue for two victims, a man and a woman.
    Both were suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and taken to area hospitals.
    The suspect fled the scene, who police believe may have been an acquaintance of the two victims.
    Police believe this was a targeted attack, according to Baltimore County Police spokesperson Jen Peach.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The two people charged in the murder of a Federal Hill man faced a judge earlier Friday for their bail review.
    The judge ruled De’Andre Sleet to be held without bond given the nature of his charges, calling him an extreme risk to public safety.
