  • Woman Found Dead In Vacant West Baltimore Home

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore city police officers were conducting an investigation in the 1300 block of N. Fulton Avenue on Wednesday at 2:27 p.m., when they found the body of a dead woman inside a vacant home.
    The woman appeared to have trauma to her body.
    Homicide detectives are investigating the incident.

  • Maryland Sees Increase In Hate Crimes Reported In 2017

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Hate crimes are increasing across our state. Sometimes it can be a poster found at Maryland universities, or incidents of outright violence.
    College student Richard Collins III was stabbed to death while waiting for a bus. The suspect, Sean Urbanski, had been linked to an alt-right Facebook group.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A Baltimore City Police officer has been terminated after being found in his patrol car passed out behind the wheel, apparently intoxicated, according to police.
    He has now been charged with a DUI.
    Officer Aaron Heilman was found Tuesday afternoon, at around 1:40 p.m., when Southern District officers were called to the 700 block of Washington Blvd to check on an officer, Heilman, slumped over behind the wheel of his marked patrol vehicle that was running.

    BELTSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) — A baby was found dead in a bathroom at High Point High School in Beltsville on Wednesday.
    Early Wednesday morning, the school resource officer assigned to the high school was alerted to a deceased baby in a school bathroom of the Maryland high school.

  • Assateague Island Horse Struck, Killed By Car

    BERLIN, Md. (WJZ) — National Park Service officials are concerned about a roadway near Assateague Island after another horse was struck and killed by a car Tuesday evening.
    According to NPS, the accident happened around 7:30 p.m.
    Eighteen-year-old solid bay stallion Sir Gruff is now the 19th horse to be killed on MD Route 611. Another six horse have been injured along the roadway.

    SYKESVILLE, Md. (WJZ) — Fire officials believe arson is the cause of a shed fire at a Maryland middle school.
    The State Fire Marshal’s Office reports the fire was started at a shed at Sykesville Middle School in Carroll County.

    (CNN Money) — Employers and workers together are spending close to $20,000 for family health insurance coverage in 2018, according to a new Kaiser Family Foundation report.

    (CNN) — Eating processed meats like bacon, sausages and ham could increase the risk of breast cancer, a study has said.
    Regularly consuming the foods was linked with a 9% higher risk of breast cancer, according to an analysis of previous studies looking at over 1.2 million women.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Ryan Farace, 34, of Reisterstown, Md., pleaded guilty Tuesday to drug distribution and money laundering conspiracies.

    JACKSONVILLE, Fl. (WJZ) — An Instagram post of a man changing his son’s diaper in a bathroom stall has gone viral over the past week.
    In the Instagram post, Donte Palmer is seen squatting on a restroom floor to change his son, Liam’s, diaper due to the lack of a baby-changing station in the men’s bathroom of a steakhouse Palmer and his family were dining at.Palmer had his eldest son, 12-year-old Isaiah, act as both photographer and an assistant as the boy snapped pictures
