• Campground Offers Free Stays To Military Families Escaping Florence

    LANCASTER COUNTY, Penn. (WPMT) — The Loose Caboose Campground in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, is offering free stays to any active service members forced to evacuate due to tropical storm Florence.
    The Loose Caboose is one of 300 campgrounds in the country that is a part of the `Tents for Troops` program, which offers people in service a free two-night stay year round.
    The owners, Donald and Tracy Lemaster, are air force veterans themselves, and say it`s their way of giving back.

  • New Bern Completes Water Rescues From Florence

    (CNN) — After enduring more than 10 feet of storm surge and at least 10 inches of rain from Tropical Storm Florence, the city of New Bern, North Carolina, said Saturday it has completed all water rescues.
    Mayor Dana Outlaw told CNN that more than 400 people had been rescued. About 4,200 homes have been damaged, he said.

    Alexis Norris did not return to her home at the 2500 block of Gehb Ave, 21227. She was last seen around 8 p.m. Friday night.
    She was last seen wearing a peach-colored hoodie and blue jeans. She is 5’2, 125 lbs and has blue eyes and black hair.

  • Man Injured In Shooting On Liberty Road

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore County Police is investigating after a man walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound.
    The victim, a 26-year-old man, was taken to a hospital by a friend after he was shot at and struck in the 8100 block of Liberty Road around 9 p.m. Friday night.
    He has a non-life-threatening wound and is expected to survive.

    (CNN) — More than 1,200 flights scheduled for Friday and Saturday have been canceled as a result of the storm that came ashore as Hurricane Florence, according to the flight tracking site FlightAware.com. That’s in addition to more than 600 cancellations Thursday.

    (CNN) — Jason Weinmann is using a military transport vehicle he bought at a government auction to whisk away New Bern, North Carolina, residents stranded by Tropical Storm Florence.
    Weinmann, a 47-year-old retired Marine, bought the vehicle 10 years ago and used it to reach people who asked to be rescued Friday.
