    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Maryland newspaper where five employees were slain in a mass shooting this summer is hiring.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Officers were called to the 100 block of N. Howard Street for a report of a shooting Saturday night.
    A short time after, a 22-year-old man walked into an area hospital with gunshot wounds to his body.
    Police believe the victim was involved in an argument in the 100 block of N. Howard Street, and during the argument, he was shot.

    (CNN) — The Texas Rangers have postponed seeking a warrant on manslaughter charges against an officer who shot and killed a man in Dallas.
    Police identified the officer as Amber Guyger, a four-year veteran of the department assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division. Guyger was involved in another shooting incident in May 2017, when a suspect took her taser, according to a Dallas Police Department news release.

    ASSATEAGUE ISLAND, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland State Parks have closed the beach and campground at Assateague State Park because of “dangerous” surf, 12-foot high waves and higher than normal tide levels.
    Access is closed until further notice.
    Beach access crossovers will be chained closed and signage was placed at the locations.

    BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Thanks to some untimely penalties, Maryland found itself down 14-10 at halftime to Mid-American Conference team Bowling Green. Then the Terps’ running game took over.

    PHILADELPHIA (KYW) — A woman was hospitalized following a fight with a Checkers employee early Saturday morning.
    The incident happened at approximately 3:07 a.m.
    Police say that the worker allegedly threw hot grease on a customer in the drive-through of the fast food restaurant.
    The customer was taken to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital where she was treated and released.

    STEVENSVILLE, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland Natural Resources Police cited three men for illegal fishing activity.
    Bernardo Salvador Rivera Palma, 52, of Gaithersburg, got citations from exceeding the daily limit of striped bass, possessing 32 undersized striped bass, possessing nine undersized white perch caught by illegal means and possessing three female, blue crabs.
