    CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) — Two Maryland prison workers were taken to a hospital after opening a letter that officials say was soaked in an unknown liquid.
    The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services said in a statement that a mailroom worker and correctional officer at the Western Correctional Institution complained of irritation Friday morning after opening the letter in the facility’s administrative building.     TMZ reports Miller was found around noon Friday at his California home and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) – Authorities say a Connecticut woman mistook a stick of dynamite for a candle during a power outage and suffered severe hand injuries.
    Assistant Bridgeport Fire Chief Michael Caldaroni says the woman was looking to light a candle in her home at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday after the power went out during a storm.

    William McFadden, 33, of Baltimore, was sentenced Thursday to 19 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release for robbing a gas station in Greenbelt, Md., and for using, carrying and brandishing a firearm during the robbery.
    McFadden pleaded guilty on July 9, just before his trial was scheduled to begin.
