  • Six Flags America Shutting Down Major Roller Coaster

    UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Six Flags America will permanently shut down the “Apocalypse: The Last Stand” roller coaster on Saturday, Sept. 8.
    The stand-up roller coaster — the only one in Maryland — gave more than 1.6 million rides since it opened in 2012. It is set in a number of apocalyptic thematic elements, like a plane crash, explosions, and zombies.

  • Police Investigating Separate Homicides In Baltimore On Saturday

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Baltimore Police Department is investigating two homicides that took place within hours of each other Saturday.
    The first shooting happened just before 2 p.m., in the 2300 block of Harford Rd.
    Responding officers found a 23-year-old who had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead after arriving.

    CUMMING, Ga. (AP) — A man and his teenage daughter are in custody after Georgia deputies said the two were dealing drugs.

    LOS ANGELES (AP) — A California woman said Saturday that she had to drive herself to the hospital and give birth without her husband after he was detained by immigration agents.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — People waiting to see a Backstreet Boys concert were injured when a temporary wall collapsed Saturday evening.
    According to a release from WinStar Casino, emergency crews responded after a temporary wall collapsed on people waiting to see the concert in Oklahoma.
