    (CNN) — Timmy Kinner wanted revenge for being kicked out of an Idaho apartment complex, police say.
    So Kinner attacked a 3-year-old’s birthday party at the complex, which houses refugees, and stabbed nine people, including six children, Boise Police Chief William Bones said Sunday.

    JOPPA, Md. (WJZ) — A jack knifed tractor-trailer caused delays on Interstate 95 Sunday evening.
    According to the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, firefighters responded to the scene on northbound I-95 prior to exit 74.
    The truck’s fuel tank was leaking.Harford County Department of Emergency Services’ Hazmat team was called to the scene.

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Maryland newspaper where five people were killed by a gunman last week said it received death threats and emails celebrating the shootings following the attack.

    According to the Maryland Natural Resources Police, the collision happened during a fireworks display.

  • Maryland Minimum Wage Goes Up And New Laws Take Effect

    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Maryland’s minimum wage is going up.
    The new $10.10 an hour wage goes into effect Sunday.
    It’s the last of the phased-in increases that were set by Maryland lawmakers in 2014. The first increase from $7.25 to $8 took place in 2015. It increased three times after that, to $8.25 in July 2015, to $8.75 in July 2016 and $9.25 last July.

  • Dangerous Heat Sunday Into Monday As Heat Wave Hits Maryland

    BALTIMORE (WJZ/CBSNEWS) — A heat wave is making for dangerously hot temperatures and thick humidity in Maryland, and the sweltering weather is expected to stick around through at least the Fourth of July.
    A heat advisory goes is in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
    Air quality is also an area of concern. A Code Orange air quality alert is in effect for the entire region and is expected to continue over the next several days.

  • Baltimore County Firefighter Suffers Heat Exhaustion In Essex Fire

    ESSEX, MD (WJZ)– Baltimore County Fire officials say a firefighter suffered heat exhaustion while battling a house fire in the Essex area this afternoon.
    Fire crews were called to the 600 block of Dunwich Way around noon today for a report of a fire.   Crews were able to put the fire out and fortunately the firefighter was evaluated at the scene and release.
    No other injuries were reported.

  • City Police Investigate Sunday Morning Homicide

    BALTIMORE, MD (WJZ)– Baltimore City Police were called to the unit block of West 20th Street at around 10:33a.m. this morning for a report of a shooting.
    When officers arrived they found a 31 year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.  The victim was transported to an area hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.
    Homicide detectives were able to determine the man was shot in the 1900 block of North Charles Street before running to West 20th Street and collapsing.
