  • Girl Taken To Hospital After Nearly Drowning At Boys And Girls Club

    HARFORD CO., Md. (WJZ) — A 6-year-old was taken to a local hospital after nearly drowning in the swimming pool at Boys and Girls Club.
    According to the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association, this was reported just after 2:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club Camp Hidden Valley.
    First reponders were called to the scene to assist with a girl who nearly drowned. There were reportedly life guards on site.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Hundreds of Baltimore students will be going to college for free this fall after the Mayor’s Scholars Program announced a partnership with both Baltimore City Community College and Baltimore City Public Schools.

    Peoria, Ariz. (CBS News/CBS Local) — An Arizona woman is putting a public spotlight on a Walgreen’s pharmacist who she said wouldn’t give her a prescription to end her pregnancy. Nicole Arteaga said her doctor prescribed the medication after determining the fetus was not viable and she would have a miscarriage.

  • Woman Found Dead, With Trauma To Body, One Day Before Her Birthday

    ROSEDALE, Md. (WJZ) — Police in Baltimore County are investigating the suspicious death of a woman found dead inside her home on the eve of her birthday.
    According to police, the woman was found unresponsive with trauma to her upper body in her kitchen in the 7900 block of Roseland Avenue in Rosedale just after 8 p.m. Sunday.

    NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A suspect is set to be arraigned Monday in last week’s stabbing death of a 15-year-old Bronx boy.

    (CNN) — When a transgender woman got up to use the woman’s bathroom at a restaurant, she said she was asked to show her ID.

    CALABASAS, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been shot to death while camping with his two young daughters at a Southern California campground.

    COCOA, Fla. (AP) — Florida prosecutors say they aren’t charging a group of teens who taunted a drowning disabled man and recorded his death.
    State Attorney Phil Archer released a statement Friday announcing his office’s decision not to criminally charge four juveniles and one adult for failing to help 31-year-old Jamel Dunn at a Cocoa retention pond last July.
