• Police Looking For Missing Frederick Co. Man

    FREDERICK CO., Md. (WJZ) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing Frederick County man.
    The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Avery Tai Thamavong, who was last seen Saturday around 2 a.m.
    He was last seen wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, black pants and sneakers.
    Thamavong is about 5-foot-7, 120 pounds and wears glasses.
    He is believed to have left in a white Toyota Corolla with Maryland tags 8CV6086.

    ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Over 100 firefighters have doused a blaze that erupted at a Maryland recycling plant filled with piles of cardboard and other highly combustible materials.
    Local news outlets report that the two-alarm fire at the Georgetown Paper Stock recycling plant in Rockville was extinguished Saturday. Roads around the plant were reopened by mid-afternoon.

    (CNN) — A taxi plowed into a crowd of pedestrians Saturday in central Moscow, injuring seven people, according to Russian state news agency TASS.
    Video published by state-run Sputnik news agency showed a taxi in slow traffic accelerating suddenly and veering sharply onto the curb, hitting pedestrians. The video showed the driver jumping out of the car and running across the street before being apprehended.

  • 8 Pedestrians Injured by Taxi on Sidewalk Near Red Square

    MOSCOW (AP) – Police in Moscow say eight people have been injured when a taxi crashed into pedestrians on a sidewalk near Red Square.Police say the driver in the crash Saturday has been detained. Preliminary information indicated the driver lost control of the vehicle.
    There were no immediate details on the severity of the pedestrians’ injuries.
    The accident took place on Ilinka Street, about 200 meters (650 feet) from Red Square and Moscow’s famous GUM shopping arcade.

    HARFORD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — Authorities say a man jumped off a bridge between Harford and Cecil counties following a police pursuit.
