• 83-Year-Old Struck And Killed Just Before Police Reached Him

    PRESTON, Md. (AP) — An 83-year-old man with dementia was struck and killed by a car just moments before police were able to retrieve him.
    Maryland State Police say they were helping the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office search for Richard Boschi of Harmony Saturday night. Boschi had walked away from his home and been reported missing.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Maryland authorities are searching for an autistic teen who has been missing since Saturday.
    Montgomery County police say 19-year-old Josh Cubert left his home around 6 p.m. after a dispute with a family member.Cubert is a white male, 6-feet tall and weighs 145 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair. He is believed to be wearing a dark green t-shirt and black jeans. Officials say Josh will occasionally remove his shirt.

  • First Responders Across Region Partake In Mass Causality Simulation Training

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Lights and sirens lit up North Baltimore Sunday morning but not for a real emergency.
    First responders from all over the region came together for a mass casualty simulation training exercise at Pimlico Racecourse.

  • 24-Year Old College Park Woman Killed In Overnight Accident

    COLUMBIA, MD (WJZ) — Howard County police are investigating a fatal single vehicle accident overnight in the Columbia area.
    Police say at around 1:59 p.m. this morning a 2011 Honda Element was traveling eastbound on Route 175 near Tamar Drive when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a traffic light pole.
    The driver, who has been identified as 24-year-old Elysse Camacho of College Park, was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma where she was pronounced dead.

    NEW YORK (AP) — Justify defied all the odds on his way to achieving Triple Crown immortality.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Authorities say a 6-year-old boy is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in Baltimore County.
    Baltimore County Police Officer Jen Peach says the boy was struck around 3:18 p.m. in the 200 block of High Falcon Road in Reisterstown Saturday.
    Peach says the boy ran out in the street from in between parked cars and was struck. The driver stayed at the scene.
    The incident is under investigation.

    TORONTO (AP) — Blue Jays catcher Luke Maile didn’t need to swing his bat to drive in the winning run against the Orioles.
    Maile broke a tie with a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning and Toronto beat Baltimore 4-3 on Saturday.

  • Fire Officials: 2 Kids, Adult Struck By Lightning At Patterson Park

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Two kids and one adult have been struck by lightning, according to Baltimore fire officials.
    Fire chief Roman Clark confirmed the lightning strike happened near the tennis court in Patterson Park Saturday afternoon.
    He says the victims were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
    The identities of the victims or any other information has not been released.

  • State University System Awards 40,000 Degrees In 2017

    BALTIMORE, Md. (AP) — Maryland’s network of public colleges is awarding degrees at a significantly higher rate than a decade ago.
    The Baltimore Sun reports that the 11 public colleges in the University System Of Maryland issued more than 40,000 degrees in 2017. That’s a 42 percent increase over the 28,000 degrees handed out in 2008.
