    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– More than 24 after a massive fire damaged nearly a dozen home in Hampden–a number of the homeowners are trying to rebuild their lives.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh said she is not sure whether Det. Sean Suiter was murdered in a press conference Wednesday.
    She said since the funeral, she has advocated for an extra set of eyes on the unsolved case.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Ravens’ 2018 preseason schedule has been released, which means the countdown to football has begun.
    As previously reported, the Ravens will have a five-game preseason for the first time in the team’s history because of the Hall of Fame Game.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore was evacuated Wednesday after a small fire was reported inside one of the restaurants, fire officials say.
    A small kitchen fire broke out in Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen & Bar just after 3:30 p.m.,according to Baltimore Fire Department spokesperson Blair Skinner.
    Skinner said a cooking appliance caught fire, which caused the casino to briefly be evacuated.
    The fire was extinguished before firefighters arrived to the scene.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Easter morning 3-alarm fire that swept through the Owings Landing Apartment complex triggered a dangerous rescue by firefighters.
    “There were numerous occupants coming up to us stating there was someone still in the apartment on the third floor,” Perry Point Assistant Fire Chief Aaron Neely said.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man accused of attacking an MTA bus driver and firing several shots.
    Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration Police say this incident happened on April 4, as the suspect boarded a bus in the 1100 block of Bentalou St.

  • Funeral Home Loses License Over Maggots, Decomposing Bodies

    FLINT, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan funeral home and its manager are no longer licensed to operate after inspectors found decomposing corpses and unsanitary conditions at the facility.
    The Flint Journal reports that Swanson Funeral Home in Flint and O’Neil Swanson II also were fined a total of $34,100.

  • Baltimore Man Arrested For November Murder

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Authorities have arrested a Baltimore man for a murder that occurred in November.
    City police say Garrett Smith, 47, was arrested Tuesday for the murder of 50-year-old Mark Grant on November 21.
    Officers say Smith allegedly fatally shot Grant in the 3800 block of Oakford Avenue.
    Smith has been charged with first-degree murder.

    CROFTON, Md. (AP) — An Iraq war veteran who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder has been sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder.
    Forty-year-old Ryan Gregory Hollebon told the court Tuesday that he stabbed his girlfriend twice last March before blacking out. Twenty-eight-year-old Jhalandia Butler, who was also a veteran, was found dead with more than 50 stab wounds.

  • Baltimore Man Charged With First Degree Murder

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore Police say they have charged a suspect with first degree murder for a fatal shooting.
    According to police, Dante Henderson, 28, was arrested Tuesday for a homicide that occurred on April 7 in the 1500 block of West Baltimore Street.
    The homicide took place in west Baltimore around 3:00 a.m. when officers were called for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

    (CNN) — A federal court ruled Monday that employers cannot use salary history to justify paying women less than men for the same work.
    The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decided in favor of the plaintiff in Rizo v. Fresno County Office of Education, ruling that wage disparity based on “prior salary alone or in combination with other factors” violated the Equal Pay Act.

  • Police Investigating Double Shooting In East Baltimore

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police say two men were shot in East Baltimore on Monday.
    Officers responded to the 1400 block of East Preston Street for a report of a shooting around 8:20 p.m.
    When police arrived, they located a 27-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a 30-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.
