• Elderly Man Found Dead In Salisbury Home

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Maryland State Police are investigating what they believe to be a homicide after a 67-year-old man was found dead inside his home in Wicomico County Saturday.
    Authorities say Pierre Louis was found inside the home in the 500 block of Priscilla Street in Salisbury with “obvious signs of trauma.”
    Police say Louis’ friend went to the home to check on him after he didn’t show up for church, and called 911 after finding him unresponsive.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A man’s body has been found floating in the Inner Harbor, according to our media partner The Baltimore Sun.
    The Baltimore City Fire Department responded to a call for a person floating in the water near the Harbor East Marina at 40 International Drive around 5:20 p.m.
    The body of the man was found floating by a water taxi, though it is unclear if he was on the water taxi before going into the water, The Sun reports.

  • Former NBA Player Glen Davis Arrested On Drug Charges

    ABERDEEN, Md. (AP) — Police say former NBA player Glen “Big Baby” Davis was arrested in a Maryland hotel last month on drug possession and distribution charges.
    WMAR-TV in Baltimore reports that Davis was arrested Feb. 7 at a Hampton Inn in Aberdeen.
    According to court records, the hotel owner smelled marijuana coming from Davis’ room.

  • Child Porn Task Force Arrests 76 In 8 States, Including Maryland

    RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina authorities say 76 people have been arrested in eight southeastern states on charges of child pornography or otherwise exploiting children.
    The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation announced Friday that the operation involved more than 200 law enforcement agencies and took four months of planning.   • State: Caller Reported Cracks In Florida Bridge Before Collapse

    MIAMI (AP) — An engineer left a voicemail two days before a catastrophic bridge failure in Miami to say some cracking had been found at one end of the concrete span, but the voicemail wasn’t picked up until after the collapse, Florida Department of Transportation officials said Friday.
    The voicemail left on a landline wasn’t heard by a state DOT employee until Friday because the employee was out of the office on an assignment, the agency said in an email.
