    It was announced in early February that the system would be closed for up to four weeks for emergency repairs.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– A Carroll County man was arrested Friday morning for child porn, according to Maryland State Police.
    Investigators say the suspect, Sean Michael Herbert, 38, of Sykesville has been charged with six counts of possession of child pornography.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Authorities are searching for an elderly man who was last seen early Friday morning.
    Baltimore police say Simon Boggs, 70, was last seen around 2:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Hamilton Avenue wearing a blue hoodie, blue sweatpants and black shoes.
    Officials say Boggs is 6-foot-1 and weighs 285 pounds.

  • Cousin Of Gun Trace Task Force Officer Gets 5 Years For Robbery

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) —A cousin of one of the corrupt Baltimore Police officers charged in the Gun Trace Task Force case has been sentenced to five years behind bars.
    David Kendall Rahim, cousin of Detective Jemell Lamar Rayam, pleaded guilty in November to helping Rayam commit a $20,000 robbery in 2014.
    Rayam and his partner, Momodu Gondo, are among the officers who have pleaded guilty to federal racketeering charges.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) —Five children and one adult suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday morning when a car struck Barclay Elementary School in North Baltimore, according to the Baltimore Fire Department.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Maryland House of Delegates approved a bill that increases the maximum penalty for using a cell phone while driving on Thursday.
    The House increased the fine to $500.
    This legislation repeals a tiered fine system with maximum fines of $75, $125 and $175 for first, second and third offenses, respectively.
    The bill passed 78-58, passing the required 71 votes for a bill to pass in the House.

    POTOMAC, Md. (AP) — People have lined up for the chance to buy mementos of the late astronaut John Glenn at his estate sale in Maryland.
    In 1962, Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth. The longtime U.S. senator died in 2016 at age 95.

    BALTIMORE (AP) — A correctional officer has been found guilty of attacking an inmate at Baltimore’s booking jail.
    The State’s Attorney’s Office said in a statement Thursday that Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Sgt. Chance Hellum was convicted of second-degree assault and misconduct in office in connection with the September 2016 incident.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Eight-year-old testimony resurfaced Thursday during day four of the third trial for the murder of Phylicia Barnes.
    In each trial, Michael Johnson has been the accused killer of his ex-girlfriend’s sister.
    Barnes was a 16-year-old girl from North Carolina who disappeared while visiting her half-sisters in Baltimore around Christmas in 2010. Her body was eventually discovered floating in the Susquehana River.
