    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A high wind warning has been issued for 11 p.m. Thursday night through 6 a.m. Saturday morning for the entire state of Maryland.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– An electrical fire at the Baltimore City Fire Department caused staff to evacuate the building Thursday morning.

  • Fatal Shooting Of Woman, Unborn Baby Now Considered Double Homicide

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Medical Examiner has found that an unborn baby that died after the mother was shot Sunday could have lived outside of the womb. The shooting is therefore being considered a double homicide.
    Jasmine Chandler and Mia Robinson were both shot while in the 5100 block of Park Heights Avenue around 5 p.m. Feb. 25.
    Police believe the women were sitting in a parked car when a suspect came up and shot them before fleeing the scene.
    Chandler was pronounced dead at the hospital.

  • Prosecutors: Man Tied Cinderblock To His Dog, Threw Him In Liberty Reservoir

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) —A man has received the maximum penalty allowed — three years in prison — after being found guilty of tying a cinderblock to his dog and throwing him into Liberty Reservoir.
    Anthony “Tony” Muniz was convicted by a Carroll County jury of aggravated animal cruelty after a two day trial.
    In February 2017, a black and white pit bull mix named Roscoe was found dead in the reservoir. A microchip linked the dog to Muniz.

    DOVER, Del. (AP) — Delaware’s Supreme Court has overturned the conviction of a 17-year-old girl in a school bathroom attack that left a 16-year-old classmate dead.
    The girl was found culpable of criminally negligent homicide by a Family Court judge and sentenced to six months in a juvenile facility for the 2016 death of Amy Joyner-Francis.

    GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — A former Democratic deputy majority whip of the Maryland House of Delegates has been convicted on federal bribery and conspiracy charges.
    Sixty-year-old Michael Vaughn was convicted Thursday on one count of conspiracy and four counts of bribery. No sentencing date was set.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) —A 62-year-old man has been arrested and charged in relation to a fatal hit-and-run that happened in Landsdowne Tuesday night.

    The score is 16 percent health care, 16 percent education, 14 percent economy, 13 percent opportunity, 12 percent infrastructure, 11 percent crime and corrections, 10 percent fiscal stability and 8 percent quality of life.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ/AP) — Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced Wednesday that he will be adding $125 million to enhance school safety procedures in Maryland.

  • Man Rescued After Foot Becomes Trapped Under Light Rail

    BATIMORE (WJZ)– Baltimore County officials say a man’s foot was trapped under a MTA Light Rail train Wednesday in Cockeysville.
    The Baltimore County Fire Department says the 61-year-old man’s foot was trapped at 98 Shawan Road around 7:15 p.m. and was quickly rescued.
    He was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
    Officials say regular service should resume Wednesday night.

  • Driver Overdoses, Crashes Into Building With Passenger, Dog In Vehicle

    BALTIMORE (WJZ)– Two individuals and a dog were involved in a collision with a building Wednesday afternoon after the driver reportedly overdosed.
    The Annapolis Fire Department says a person crashed their vehicle into a building in the 1700 block of West Street after suffering an overdose.
    Responders found the driver unconscious at the scene and then regained consciousness after two doses of Narcan was administered by medics.
