    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — More women are pulling the trigger and buying guns.
    A Maryland company, Practical Training Professionals (PTP), is having special classes that focus specifically on females and firearms.
    On Sunday, it was a packed house in Timonium for a training that could mean life or death.
    “The two causes of firearm accidents is ignorance, and negligence,” says Ryan Gass, owner of PTP. “What we are doing today is trying to break through that ignorance.”

  • Teen Shot In Double Shooting Near Pimlico

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police say two people, including one teen, were shot in northwest Baltimore.
    Baltimore City Police officers responded to the 3800 block of Belvedere Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Monday after hearing gunshots. When officers arrived, they found two victims, a 17-year-old man and a 23-year-old man. Both men were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not yet been released.

  • Police Investigating Double Shooting Near Pimlico

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Two people have reportedly been shot in northwest Baltimore.
    Chopper 13 was over West Belvedere Avenue near Pimlico Race Course where at least two ambulances and dozens of Baltimore City Police officers were on scene.
    Captain Jeff Long says several evidence markers were on the ground, however police have not released further details.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The three men behind a string of home break-ins in Baltimore came face-to-face with a judge for the first time.
    Monday afternoon, a judge ordered two of the three suspects who stole more than $1 million in property in 20 burglaries to remain behind bars.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police have released body cam footage of the moments leading up to the fatal shooting of an armed suspect in northwest Baltimore.
    The footage shows a man, identified as Billy Lewis Rucker, running from police before he allegedly pulled a gun on an officer and was shot just after 8 p.m. Sunday in the area of Gwynns Falls Parkway.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police have charged a man with murder in the death of a Baltimore woman who was reported missing in May 2017.
    Taras Caldwell has been charged with first and second-degree murder and assault in the death of Shaquana Marie Caldwell.
    Shaquana Caldwell had been missing since May 14, 2017. A body, which was that was later determined to be Caldwell, was found in June in a wooded area of Anne Arundel County.

    (CNN) — Two men have been sentenced to prison for possessing nearly 100 pounds of the drug fentanyl — enough to kill the entire population of New Jersey and New York City, officials said.
    Fentanyl is a powerful opioid that is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine and 30 to 50 times more potent than heroin, and a dose as small as a quarter of a milligram can be fatal.

    BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police have arrested a juvenile after recovering 80 bags of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop in Baltimore.
    Maryland Transportation Authority Police officers stopped the juvenile’s 1999 Toyota Carolla on southbound Pennington Ave. on Sunday for registration and equipment violations.
